Dear Governor Bredesen,
Currently Tennessee State Law only has 2 exemptions against childhood vaccinations, Medical or Religous. There are currently 18 states that also have Philosophical exemptions for them. The states are
Arizona
Arkansas
California
Idaho
Louisana
Maine
Missouri
Nebraska
New Mexico
North Dakota
Ohio
Oklahoma
Texas
Utah
Vermont
Washington
Wisconsin
As a parent to an non-vaccinated child for my own personal believes, I do not find it right to have to claim it is against my religion so my child does not have to recieve the vaccinations. I find the risks of the vaccinations too high to risk giving them to my child, so I have skipped out on them during the Well Child Checkups.
We parents who do not vax due to Philosophical reasons have a hard time getting them into school, day care etc etc. We deserve the right to refuse vaccinations for our children due to personal reasons. Thank you for your time.
