Target: All those who buy illegal marijuana.
Description/History:
This is a petition to refrain from buying illegal marijauna in the name of civil order and peace and to lobby for homegrowing of small amounts for personal use by adults 21 yrs. and older.
This petition is a call for all who are alarmed by the reported violence and destruction caused by the illegal drug trade not only in our own communities but in all affected communities around the world to refrain from buying illegal marijuana because we no longer wish to have the blood of the illegal drug trade on our hands through buying illegal marijuana or any other illegal drug for that matter which transfers wealth to those who practice violence and crime.
This is also a call for the legalization of the home growing of marijuana in small amounts for personal use but not for the sale or distribution of marijauna by those who are homegrowing it or for the legalization of other more powerful and destructive drugs such as methamphetamines or cocaine which are laboratory created and wreak far more destruction than "naturally grown" marijuana whose potency is not artificially enhanced.

Petition:
We, the undersigned realize that marijuana is a commonly used social and recreational drug who's distribution, sales and popularity does not seem to be possible to control through harsher laws and/or increasing law enforcement.
We also no longer wish to fuel the illegal drug trade by buying illegal marijuana.
We find reports of the increased violence and destruction caused by the illegal drug trade to be highly disturbing and a threat to civil order and freedom in our communities because of the repression, violence and intimidation that drug gangs bring.
Also we no longer wish to have the blood of violent men and criminals on our hands or in our neighborhoods who's crimes reportedly include murder, prostitution, human smuggling, sexual exploitation, illegal gun sales and the deliverance of many poor and desperate men, women and youth around the world into prison and death.
Our stand against this is to refrain from buying illegal marijuana and to lobby our governments to legalize the growing of marijauna at home in small amounts for personal use by adults 21 years old and over in an effort to liberate it from the hands of the violent and the criminal.
Today we wish to be part of the solution by signing this petition which verifies our agreement with the actions and opinions it states.
We also wish for this petition to be used to lobby our local, state and national governments for reform concerning these matters.
